How to setup the Blooper!

You want to be able to move around and quickly jerk the rod in a walking style. In order to do that you will want to use a fast action medium to meidum-heavy casting rod. Make sure you have some slack in your line and keep your rod tip down so you can easily move your rod back and forth. Fish this in heavy cover and cooler spots where you know the bass will be and hang on tight!

GEAR RECOMMENDATIONS: Tie the Blooper on either a 8-15 lb fluorocarbon or a 15-30 lb braided line. You will want a medium power casting OR spinning rod with a reel that has a moderate retrieval speed for the best result to catch your next PB!
RETRIEVE: The Blooper can be fished with a slow and subtle retrieve. Make short sweeps with your rod tip. This will allow the bait to gently plop at the surface mimicing the action of baitfish being chased. If the water is extra cool make sure the pauses are longer and slower!
